Large and spacious rooms, ideal for family holidays. Ample storage space, with  toys and  books provided for younger children. Well equipped holiday cottage, over and above four- star rating. Quality audio-visual equipment, freeview TV and wifi. Selection of books and DVDs.  The cottage may be hired individually, or as group accommodation with the other cottages at Dove Farm, to give all the advantages of big holiday houses and party houses.  Group dining space in dove studio. Useful downstairs bedroom, with adjacent bathroom, suitable for guests with limited mobility. Further two bedrooms upstairs, one en-suite. An extra guest bed can be added to any of the bedrooms – though not all at the same time! Useful dining kitchen. Cooking for larger groups is not a problem, especially when this kitchen is used together with the kitchen in Wren Cottage. There are plenty of large pans and cooking dishes. The back door of the cottage, opens out from the kitchen to the shared patio garden area. This also acts as a convenient ‘outside corridor’ between the cottages. Dogs welcome by arrangement only.

Notes for the less able

Barn Owl cottage is not currently graded under the national accessibility scheme, however certain features help to make it a disabled friendly cottage.

The ground floor is accessible for wheelchair users, and those with limited mobility. The shower room is generous sized, with level floor. Shower area has half-height shower doors, with 1 grab rail in shower area. Commode style shower chair available. The toilet has 1 grab rail and transfer space to left of WC, with basin to the right (user’s perspective.) The kitchen does not have adaptations for use by disabled guests. The table may be used as work surface. Electric sockets and light switches are placed at convenient height, as in other ground floor rooms. Internal doorways are set to standard external specification of 33 inches, making this a wheelchair accessible cottage for most users.

The patio garden, to rear of cottages, is level and hard surfaced, enabling easy access, indoors and outdoors, for guests with limited mobility. There are no steps in and out of doorways to cottages. The car park and immediate public access area around cottages, is level, though not all has been surfaced. There is an access statement for this property.
