Dove studio is a large, rectangular space, simply furnished, with good natural
light, giving a positive, comfortable feel to the room.
It has a large table with dining space around it for 16 – 18 people. The room has wifi internet access (security enabled.)
Dove studio has two main uses, as
• a meeting room for business guests
and
• a dining room for our leisure guests
It can also accommodate more informal workshops, exercise classes, holistic therapies etc, and can be adapted for use as an extra bedroom/living space. Different groups have their own requirements, but all our guests, including day visitors have one thing in common – they expect to hire a clean and pleasant room, with quality furnishings and décor, in other words, a professional room, that is fit for purpose.
For this reason, we regret that Dove studio is not a ‘roll up the carpets and party all night’ kind of room. It is not a games room, a pub function room, or generally available as an overspill or play area for the children.
We know that spending quality mealtimes together, is an important part of a group stay, so we include some use of Dove studio in all our weekend and short break stays. Generally, this will be so that guests can enjoy an evening meal all together, or to celebrate a special occasion, however, guests are also welcome to sit around the table, drinking and chatting, or use the room for quiet space. The table is made up of modular sections, so it can be moved or modified to suit the occasion, eg. a buffet style lunch.
The studio has an entrance directly from the car park, as well as from the
patio garden.
There are two toilets and a shower, which provide additional bathroom facilities
for larger groups.
The studio has a small kitchenette, ideal for serving drinks and snacks. There is ample tableware, wine glasses, cutlery and serving dishes etc. Tableware is plain white, so it can be taken to the dishwashers in the cottages, and easily identified afterwards, for putting away.
We also have a stock of champagne flutes for those special moments when a glass of bubbles is called for!
Equipment: hifi, OHP projector* LCD projector* whiteboard/screen, flipchart, stationery, 2 x ¾ size sofabeds, fridge, urn for boiling water, kettle and microwave.
*you need to ask us if you want to use the projectors. A small hire charge applies to LCD projector.
House notes: Groups who are catering for themselves, will find it convenient to cook in the large kitchen, in the next door Wren cottage, and in the other good-sized kitchen in Barn Owl Cottage. Food can then be carried through to the studio. Groups who are taking our diner party service, need to be aware that the caterers will prepare and serve the meal from Wren kitchen. Please note that the heating system for Dove studio works independently from the cottages, and we only heat the room as required – so when you get here, please let us know when you want to use it, and we can make sure the room is warm and welcoming for you.
Notes for the less able: There is a shallow, ramped incline
to each entrance of Dove studio. The doorways are wide and easy to negotiate
with a wheelchair (kitchen not included.) There is a toilet suitable for disabled
use, with grabrails on either side and transfer space to the left of the toilet
(from user’s perspective.)
