If the beautiful little village and estate of Tissington is your destination, then Herberts Tearooms is a must. Quirky decor, good menu choice, relaxed atmosphere and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. dog friendly too. Seasonal opening, so once you get into October, check opening hours. Walkers and cyclists can be dropped off in Ashbourne, (by the leisure centre) to make their way along the Tissington trail, while you drive round to Herberts tearooms and wait for them in comfort!Of course you will find the usual Costas in both Ashbourne and Uttoxeter - and an excellent Waitrose café in Uttoxeter. Lots more little independent cafes to try in Ashbourne. Enjoy browsing antique shops, boutiques, lovely charity shops and gift shops, with such a choice of refreshment stops to keep you going.
