Dove farm is our family home, with an array of animals and farm pets to meet, greet and feed. You will love our riverside walk, acres of open space to enjoy and the opportunity to escape the everyday.
The Stretton family has been here since 1962, when Henry’s parents bought the farm, but farming activity on this land, dates back to medieval times and earlier.
What started out as a dairy farm for us, has now become a diverse mix of activities. Our self catering accommodation comprises a group of 3 holiday cottages close to Ashbourne, on the Staffordshire Derbyshire border. The farming business is a mix of arable, a breeding flock of pedigree Ryeland sheep; fodder sales; agricultural used machinery sales and repairs, and vintage tractor restoration.
We have always known that Dove farm is a natural meeting place, and it seems that lots of our guests think so too!
We invite you to experience this little countryside haven, where friends and family can gather together, to celebrate their special moments, as well as enjoy precious time together.
The pressures of modern living often mean that time is scarce and sometimes it feels like a lot of effort to organise a group event, or weekend away. We understand.
Group getaways, including family occasions, hen groups and friends reunions, are our speciality. We have done the hard work, and created a haven with a home from home feel, to make your short break convenient and comfortable. All you need to do, is book your dates and invite your group.
Jane’s facilitation skills and thoughtful presence also make Dove farm the Ideal
retreat venue.
We offer short breaks and weekend breaks all year round. Only 4 miles from
Alton Towers.
